Lattice Semiconductor has announced a collaboration with Arm aimed at adding adaptable control, security and connectivity functions to Arm's AGI CPU server platforms.

The proposed architecture places a Lattice FPGA alongside the server CPU and baseboard management controller. According to Lattice, this companion device can handle functions including platform trust, system management and configurable interfaces without requiring changes to the main processor.

The companies are also supporting connectivity between an Open Compute Project host processor module and a data-centre secure control module using the LVDS Tunnelling Protocol and Interface. LTPI carries multiple low-speed management interfaces over a reduced-pin-count serial connection, simplifying the physical link between the modules.

Placing these functions in programmable logic allows server manufacturers to modify platform-management and interface behaviour after the hardware design has been completed. It can also isolate selected control functions from the primary processor and its operating environment.

Lattice said the joint design combines its FPGA technology with firmware capabilities from AMI. The companies plan to demonstrate the platform at the OCP Global Summit, taking place from 12 to 15 October 2026.
