Diodes Incorporated has introduced four automotive qualified 60 V field plated Super Barrier Rectifiers for power conversion and protection functions.
The family comprises the 2 A SBRFP2M60P1Q and SBRFP2M60SAFQ, the 3 A SBRFP3M60SAFQ and the 8 A SBRFP8A60P5Q. Diodes positions the devices as replacements for comparable Schottky and PN junction rectifiers in DC to DC converters, battery chargers, reverse polarity protection, LED lighting and transmission control systems.
The SBRFP devices use the company’s metal oxide semiconductor manufacturing process. Diodes specifies a maximum forward voltage of 0.55 V at 8 A for the SBRFP8A60P5Q. It also specifies maximum reverse leakage of 12 µA for the SBRFP2M60P1Q at 25°C and 7 µA for the SBRFP3M60SAFQ at 125°C.
Depending on the device, avalanche energy ratings reach 145 mJ. The company says this is intended to improve tolerance to surge events, load dumps and other transients found in vehicle electrical systems.
The parts are supplied in PowerDI123, PowerDI5 and SMAF packages and are rated for junction temperatures from minus 55°C to 175°C. Diodes states that the devices are AEC qualified, manufactured at IATF 16949 certified facilities and supported by production part approval process documentation.
