Aehr Test Systems says a supplier of AI accelerators, CPUs and network processors has decided to buy a FOX-XP wafer-level burn-in test cell for evaluation at an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test partner in Taiwan. Installation is planned for early 2027, following a benchmark completed with the customer during the previous quarter. [1]
The next evaluation will use the same device in a high-volume production environment, with a decision on wider production expected several months after installation and validation. Aehr has not named the customer or disclosed the planned cell’s detailed configuration. [1]
The FOX-XP platform uses WaferPak contactors to connect test resources to a full wafer before it is cut into individual dies. Aehr describes configurable resources for functional testing and burn-in, with voltage and current protection at individual channels, allowing devices to operate while they undergo the selected reliability stress. [2]
Wafer handling forms part of the system. An automatic aligner loads wafers into the contactors and shares wafer identity and test-program information with the FOX-XP. Those functions connect the electrical test to the loading and tracking of wafers through the equipment, providing the surrounding production workflow for the evaluation planned in Taiwan. [2]
