TM Technologies says it has licensed its Cognitive Spectrum Optimization technology to Rohde & Schwarz for implementation in test and measurement equipment.

Known as TM-CSO, the technology forms part of the company’s work on transpositional modulation. The agreement is intended to make its waveforms available to developers working on terrestrial and non-terrestrial communications equipment and networks.

The announcement includes comments from Rohde & Schwarz business development manager Randy Schnell supporting the incorporation of TM-CSO into its equipment. It does not identify an instrument model, software release, supported frequency range or availability date.

TM Technologies links the development to spectrum efficiency, security and integrated sensing and communications. Its release provides no comparative measurements establishing a throughput gain or security assurance, so those benefits remain the supplier’s claims.

The licensing agreement was presented at the IEEE MILCOM conference in Bethesda, Maryland. TM Technologies supplies software licences and integration engineering for wireless communications, including terrestrial and satellite-linked systems.
