GÖPEL adds ASA Motion Link to its Video Dragon test platform

GÖPEL electronic is extending Video Dragon to automotive cameras and displays using ASA Motion Link. An interface module connects the ASA-ML link to a platform that combines a frame grabber with a frame generator.
That combination allows test hardware to work at either end of the video path. It can capture a camera’s output for inspection, then supply a controlled source to exercise a display or receiving ECU. GÖPEL identifies timing, interface compatibility and stability during continuous operation among the tasks supported by the system.
- Standalone unit for laboratory work
- PCI Express card for integration into a test PC
- PXI Express module for modular test systems
The hardware also accommodates GMSL, GVIF, FPD-Link, APIX and MIPI A-PHY through the appropriate configurations. ASA-ML is the Automotive SerDes Alliance’s open interface for asymmetric links over coaxial cable or shielded twisted pair. GÖPEL’s ASA-ML product page currently marks the serialisers and deserialisers as under development.
Connection to the unit under test can be adapted through the G-Patch 6222 STP box, which supports connectors specified by the customer and pin assignments. It also provides access to the specimen’s external power supply and a means of disconnecting that supply during testing.
