Keysight brings eight-port 1.6T Ethernet testing to OCP

Keysight Technologies will show two new 1.6T Ethernet test platforms at the OCP Global Summit in San Jose, which runs from 12 to 15 October.
The company’s programme includes the SERT-1600GE switch and edge-router test solution and AresONE-Plus-1600GE. The latter provides eight 1.6T Ethernet ports in a single 2U appliance, with stateful AI workload generation and mix-of-collectives emulation.
Keysight announced its programme on 9 October, with joint demonstrations involving Alibaba Cloud, Cisco, HPE and NVIDIA.
The scale-up networking demonstrations will examine interoperability between emerging Ethernet implementations. They include Link Layer Retry and Credit-Based Flow Control validation on 100G and 200G SerDes. Keysight says it plans a live public demonstration of Link Layer Retry operating over a 200G SerDes-based 1.6T link.
A separate workload demonstration will emulate 64 endpoints at 800GE across a 2×2 Clos fabric. The planned tests examine fabric utilisation, congestion and traffic distribution under mixed AI collective workloads.
The programme also extends to networks connecting data centres. Keysight will demonstrate RoCEv2 workload testing to examine the effects of latency, buffering, packet loss and congestion. Its scale-out demonstration uses multi-path traffic with SRv6 source routing to exercise path and plane failover.
At the inference level, Keysight’s AI Inference Builder will generate workloads against a live inference stack and correlate performance with telemetry from compute, GPU, memory and network resources.
Alongside the booth demonstrations, Keysight’s interconnect programme covers digital-layer bit-error ratio and forward-error-correction performance. It includes its FITS portfolio’s expansion to 16 channels and validation of active electrical cables and passive direct-attach copper cables for 1.6T deployments.
