Advanced Energy launches 160 W supply for rugged defence systems

Advanced Energy has launched the DF150, a rugged 160 W AC to DC power supply aimed at defence, industrial, telecommunications, transport and energy equipment.
The unit is the first product in the company’s Defiant Future family of standard power supplies. Advanced Energy says the range is intended to provide the environmental performance normally associated with custom designs while reducing lead times.
The DF150 provides a nominal 27 VDC output at 6 A. The company specifies operation from minus 46°C to 60°C without derating and efficiency of up to 91 per cent at full load. It can be supplied with baseplate conduction cooling or a mounted heatsink for convection cooling.
According to Advanced Energy, the product is certified to MIL-STD 810H for conditions including shock, vibration, altitude and temperature extremes, and to MIL-STD 461G for electromagnetic compatibility. It also carries an IP67 rating for dust and water ingress.
The company is offering several input cable configurations and enclosure colours. The DF150 operates with no minimum load and has specified leakage current of 275 µA at 230 VAC.
