Adani Enterprises and Jabil have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding for a proposed 50:50 joint venture to manufacture and assemble AI and data-centre equipment in India.
The intended portfolio includes racks, servers, storage and networking equipment, together with power-distribution units, liquid-cooling systems and transformers. Installation and commissioning services would also form part of the operation.
The companies describe a manufacturing platform capable of supplying racks with a combined power capacity of several gigawatts. The venture remains subject to definitive agreements, applicable approvals and customary conditions.
The memorandum follows their June proposal to establish an Indian AI-infrastructure manufacturing alliance.
Jabil would contribute engineering, manufacturing and supply-chain capabilities. Its data-centre activities include critical power and energy management through Hanley Energy Group, and liquid cooling through Mikros Technologies.
Adani’s contribution would draw on its infrastructure, energy and data-centre operations. The group has committed to developing 5 GW of green-energy-powered, AI-ready hyperscale data centres by 2035.
The proposed manufacturing operation would serve Indian demand and exports.
