Valeo and Anritsu to demo digital twin for vehicle connectivity testing

Valeo and Anritsu will show an expanded virtual network validation setup for software-defined vehicles at the 5GAA meeting in New Delhi, adding an eCall use case to their MWC 2026 demonstration.

Anritsu and Valeo are to jointly show a digital twin validation solution for software-defined vehicles (SDVs) at the 39th 5G Automotive Association (5GAA) Meeting in New Delhi, running from 26 to 29 October 2026. The exhibit builds on a joint demonstration the two companies gave at MWC 2026 in March, extending it to new use cases including Emergency Call (eCall).

The setup pairs Valeo's virtualised ECU simulation platform with Anritsu's cellular testing technology. Anritsu's software-based in-the-loop simulator is combined with a virtual engine designed to recreate real-world network conditions, generating cloud-based or local digital twins. According to the companies, this lets automakers simulate multi-carrier (inter-MNO) network handoffs and multi-vehicle V2N/V2X scenarios in a controlled, repeatable environment rather than relying solely on physical track testing.

Addressing validation scale

Valeo and Anritsu describe the underlying problem as one of combinatorial scale: validating in-vehicle connectivity features such as over-the-air updates, cloud integration and 5G/C-V2X communications requires testing thousands of potential combinations across different mobile networks, environments and vehicle states. The companies say physical vehicle testing alone presents hurdles in cost, development time, reproducibility and scalability, which the virtual environment is intended to reduce.

Gilles Mabire, Valeo CTO Brain Division, said: "As vehicles become increasingly software-defined, seamless and resilient connectivity is critical to the future of mobility. By expanding our collaboration with Anritsu to virtualize complex network validation including critical safety applications like eCall, we are enabling automakers to accelerate development cycles, cut physical testing costs, and deliver safe, scalable SDV features to market faster."

Shinji Hoshino, General Manager of the IoT Test Solutions Division at Anritsu Corporation, said: "The transition to Software-Defined Vehicles demands a more agile and repeatable approach to connectivity validation. By integrating Valeo's Virtual ECU platforms with Anritsu's connectivity simulation technologies, we are enabling a scalable virtual testing methodology that bridges real-world driving data and deterministic laboratory validation. This allows developers to identify and resolve connectivity edge cases earlier, reduce reliance on costly field testing, and accelerate the delivery of high-quality connected vehicle features."

The New Delhi showing is a joint demonstration rather than a commercial product launch, extending the scope shown at MWC 2026 with the addition of the eCall scenario.
