Selected Siemens PROFIBUS products have reached the scheduled start of phase-out in a lifecycle notice issued by Siemens Japan on 23 July 2025.

The notice sets 1 October 2026 as the first milestone. General sales are scheduled to end in October 2027, with spare-parts sales ending in October 2036. Products remain available during the initial stage, although Siemens says prices will rise as production volumes fall.

The affected list includes ET 200AL, ET 200pro, ET 200SP and ET 200MP interface modules, connection modules and the DP/DP coupler. It is not a withdrawal of the entire PROFIBUS portfolio.

Examples include the ET 200AL IM 157-1 DP, order number 6ES7157-1AA00-0AB0; ET 200SP IM 155-6DP HF, 6ES7155-6BA01-0CN0; and DP/DP coupler, 6ES7158-0AD01-0XA0.

Siemens lists PROFINET alternatives but says they are not interchangeable spare parts because communications and other specifications differ.

These are the dates in the Japanese notice, rather than a new discontinuation announcement. Regional ordering arrangements and the current status of individual parts are not established by that document alone.
