DATA MODUL has identified Giantplus successor products for selected Toppan/ORTUSTECH displays, with replacement production expected to begin in April 2028. Final orders for the existing displays close at the end of October 2026 and final deliveries are scheduled by the end of March 2028.

The planned transfer covers selected models. DATA MODUL is also assessing displays from other manufacturers and says each migration will need an technical review of each application.

Its published mapping distinguishes products that can look similar at first glance. Two 2.7-inch panels both have a 240 × 320 resolution, but COM27H2R06ULC uses SPI and is paired with GPM2082A0, while the RGB/TTL COM27H2P86ULC is paired with GPM2123A0. The list extends through RGB, MIPI and LVDS interfaces, with mostly transflective replacements.

Matching the diagonal and pixel count would leave important differences unresolved. FORTEC’s description of the outgoing range places particular emphasis on sunlight readability, low power and operating temperature, characteristics used in outdoor and portable equipment as well as industrial and medical products. A replacement that fits the aperture can still change the display’s behaviour in the conditions for which the original was selected.

DATA MODUL’s Andreas Huber, head of products, said the transfers would offer “a clear path forward for selected existing designs beyond the end of Toppan’s production”. The company’s published schedule places the planned start of successor production immediately after the final-delivery month for the outgoing products.

DATA MODUL lists technical assessment, sampling and storage support among the services available during the transition. It is also evaluating alternatives from its wider display portfolio for products outside the planned transfers.
