MintNeuro raises $5 million to scale neural-interface chip platform

MintNeuro has raised $5 million to expand its semiconductor platform for neural devices, with the London company planning to accelerate product launches and increase deliveries of pre-release silicon to partners.
Announced on 7 October, the round was led by Odyssey Ventures. Investors also included 33East, JSK Investments and Alumni Ventures, alongside returning backers Empirical Ventures, Jumpspace Ventures and early investors.
The Imperial College London spinout says the investment will support engineering and commercial hiring, customer adoption and a stronger presence in the US.
Building blocks for neural devices
MintNeuro develops specialised integrated circuits for devices that connect with the brain and nervous system. Its modular platform brings together neural sensing, signal processing and electrical stimulation, with medical implants its immediate focus.
On its website, the company lists neural signal acquisition, stimulation with integrated safety control, on-chip processing and data reduction, power management and wireless data transfer among the platform's capabilities.
The approach is intended to give developers reusable semiconductor building blocks rather than requiring them to adapt general-purpose components or develop a custom chip for each device. MintNeuro positions its technology as a way to reduce implant size, power consumption and development effort.
From working silicon to customer programmes
MintNeuro reports working silicon and integration milestones with development partners including Motif Neurotech and Amber Therapeutics.
Its agreement with Motif, announced in April, covers access to neural sensing and stimulation ICs across preclinical, early clinical and pivotal study phases. Chip development is being aligned with Motif's therapeutic implant roadmap, providing feedback from a device programme rather than an isolated semiconductor demonstration.
The next stage is to turn those partner integrations into broader adoption, with investment going into product launches, engineering support and international expansion.
