SCHURTER’s ADO fuse family gives high-voltage DC assemblies a choice of PCB mounting or a bolted connection. The 10 × 38 mm format is offered with a through-hole termination and three bolt-on arrangements, allowing the mounting method to follow the mechanical and service requirements of the equipment.
The range covers rated currents from 15 A to 63 A, with voltage ratings of 500, 750, 850 and 1000 VDC depending on the version. Those limits apply to different parts: the current 1000 VDC variants extend to 40 A, rather than the family maximum of 63 A.
SCHURTER specifies breaking capacity of 20 kA at 1000 VDC for the relevant versions, with an L/R test condition of 1 ms. Ceramic bodies and the fuse construction address arc interruption, while the range is designed for mechanical vibration and shock resistance.
Intended applications include onboard chargers, DC/DC converters, battery-management systems, air-conditioning compressors and PTC heaters. The choice of termination also affects maintenance: a bolt-on fuse can be replaced after operation without desoldering it from the PCB.
For a converter or auxiliary vehicle assembly, the ADO range provides a compact protection component with several installation options. The product datasheet sets out the part-specific ratings, time-current curves and temperature derating for selection.
