SEHO lets two soldering units share the workload

SEHO is putting two independently operating soldering units inside its SelectLine-S, with software that distributes work between them even when the machine is processing different assemblies.

The SmartSplit mode addresses the scheduling problem that comes with the second unit: deciding how to divide the soldering programme so that available hardware spends less time waiting. SEHO claims shorter cycle times and improved utilisation, although its launch material does not quantify the gain.

Flux application and preheating are integrated into the same compact machine. The microdrop fluxer has automatic cleaning and continuous function monitoring, followed by heating from above and below the assembly. A new operator interface runs on an automation PC.

The machine is aimed specifically at Asian electronics manufacturing and combines SEHO’s process engineering with Heller Industries’ regional manufacturing experience. It will be presented at NEPCON Shenzhen on 27–29 October, at booth 11D65.
