GlobalFoundries has opened an Advanced Facilities Control Centre in Singapore with Siemens. Its first phase will bring five fab specific control centres on the campus into one command centre.

The platform combines facilities data and operational metrics, using monitoring and visualisation alongside predictive maintenance tools. GF says the arrangement is intended to help teams diagnose faults, identify emerging equipment problems and compare conditions across the site. It also aims to reduce duplication of control infrastructure.

“Reliable facilities infrastructure is foundational to semiconductor manufacturing,” said Pradip Singh, GlobalFoundries’ chief manufacturing officer. The programme concerns the facilities equipment that supports manufacturing, with continuous health monitoring forming part of the proposed operating model.

Singapore is the starting point for a wider rollout. GF says full global deployment would connect more than one million critical data points across its manufacturing network, allowing operating metrics to be benchmarked between sites.
