Rising component costs are driving repeated price increases in the LED video display market, according to Omdia, even as revenue remains under pressure.
The research firm says suppliers of LED chips, driver ICs, printed circuit boards and power supplies have introduced successive price adjustments since late 2025. Several display brands have responded with three or four rounds of increases, taking cumulative product price changes to between 3% and 30%.
Omdia’s second-quarter tracker shows shipments growing 3.3% year on year while revenue fell 0.2%. Its analyst Cindy Liu says vendors are concentrating on mid-range and premium products, energy efficiency and reliability as they reassess their portfolios.
The firm forecasts annual revenue growth of 11.6% between 2026 and 2030. It identifies chip-on-board packaging, Micro LED and improved display assembly as technologies supporting applications beyond conventional signage, including virtual production and immersive installations.
Regional manufacturing is also changing. Omdia cites Daktronics’ investment in a facility in Saltillo, Mexico, intended to give the company greater flexibility over production costs, tariffs and regional customer requirements.
