Intel is targeting 2028 for its Razor Lake-AX processor in robotics applications, with an AI computing target of about 700 trillion operations per second, according to reporting on the company’s roadmap.

Notebookcheck, citing South Korean industry title The Elec, reports that Intel executive Cho Min-sung outlined the plans at the Semiconductors Powering Humanoids conference in Seoul. The reported sequence places Nova Lake in robotics applications in early 2027, followed by Razor Lake-AX in 2028.

The presentation was also reported to put Intel’s current Panther Lake-based robotics platform at up to 180 TOPS of combined AI performance. The numerical precision and the contributions of the CPU, GPU and NPU behind the proposed 700 TOPS figure were not specified in the reporting.

Intel’s existing robotics development work includes the Panther Lake-based Robinson Bay platform and software such as OpenVINO and Robotics AI Suite.
