DigiKey adds TDK SensEI predictive-maintenance starter system

DigiKey has become the first distributor of TDK SensEI’s edgeRX Starter predictive-maintenance system under an agreement announced on 8 October.
The system combines machine-mounted sensing with AI analytics to identify changes in equipment behaviour. It monitors vibration and temperature, with TDK SensEI positioning the package for applications including rotating machinery, HVAC equipment and conveyors.
Each starter package contains 10 edgeRX LYNQ sensors, an edgeRX gateway and a platform licence covering an initial six-month software subscription. The gateway aggregates sensor readings and connects them to the monitoring platform.
TDK SensEI says the system combines processing at the edge with cloud analytics hosted on AWS. Its software examines the incoming measurements for anomalies and provides alerts and information intended to support maintenance decisions. The package includes installation guidance, dashboard documentation and onboarding resources.
DigiKey’s vice-president of passives and multimarket semiconductors, Jason Simoneau, said the company had already used the technology in its own distribution centre.
TDK SensEI combines TDK’s sensor technologies with edge intelligence and machine-learning capabilities. The edgeRX Starter package includes preconfigured hardware and resources for expanding monitoring as additional equipment is connected.
