Zuken adds schematic rewiring and placement reuse to CR-8000

Moving components around a schematic can leave a considerable amount of wire editing behind. CR-8000 2026 introduces automatic routing in Design Gateway, allowing logical connections to be defined before the software generates their paths. Components can then be temporarily unwired and rearranged, with the connections restored afterwards.
Zuken has also changed how placement can be examined on the PCB. Main Path View filters the ratsnest to emphasise major IC connections and suppress selected connections involving discrete components. Separate views of power connections and distance constraints provide additional ways to assess the layout.
Previously completed placement work becomes searchable through Smart Design Reuse. Candidate arrangements can be compared and applied to a new design.
The release’s Dynamic Brain feature runs through a locally hosted AI-PR server. According to Zuken, placement data stays within the customer’s network, giving the system access to internal design information without transferring it to a cloud service.
CR-8000 2026 is available now.
