Vantron’s VT-MOB-AH-8108 Wi-Fi HaLow module has gained CE, FCC and UL certifications, completing a production milestone for the company’s compact sub-GHz radio design.

Built around Morse Micro’s MM8108, the LGA module measures 11 × 10 × 2.28mm. It integrates the radio, physical layer and MAC functions for IEEE 802.11ah, together with a power amplifier, low-noise amplifier and transmit/receive switch.

HaLow uses sub-GHz spectrum rather than the higher-frequency bands associated with conventional Wi-Fi. Vantron positions the module for industrial IoT, agricultural monitoring and large sensor networks, with support for both station and access-point operation.

The headline data rate of 43.3Mbit/s applies to an 8MHz channel. Vantron also lists narrower 1MHz, 2MHz and 4MHz options, with respective maximum rates of 4.44Mbit/s, 8.67Mbit/s and 20Mbit/s. Those distinctions are relevant when comparing deployment regions: channel availability and permitted operating conditions determine which configuration can actually be used.

Host connections include USB 2.0, SDIO 2.0 and SPI. Supply and I/O voltage are 3.3V, and the specified operating-temperature range is −40°C to 85°C. Security features include WPA3, protected management frames and hardware support for cryptographic functions.

Morse Micro says the completed certification work clears the module for mass production. The approvals concern the module; the applicable integration conditions, including the antenna configuration, remain part of the finished product’s RF design.
