electronica 2026: a guide to edge demonstrations, sensors and technical forums

New areas in Halls C5 and C6 add embedded systems workshops, live edge demonstrations and technical discussions to the Munich exhibition.

A day at electronica can disappear into stand meetings. This year’s programme also gives embedded engineers and technical managers a reason to leave time for working demonstrations, workshops and discussions about implementation.

The exhibition runs in Munich from 10 to 13 November. Its revised semiconductor area spans Halls C5 and C6, with the new edge lab LIVE! in C5 and two technical forums in C6. A new Sensor Pavilion adds another destination for teams working on sensing and instrumentation. [Source 1]

Start with the systems in Hall C5

edge lab LIVE! is built around functional, integrated systems rather than conventional product stands. The organiser describes a curated architecture environment showing how open source software and open standards can be deployed in connected embedded applications. [Source 2]

Its advertised programme includes live demonstrations, coding and meetups for Zephyr and the Yocto Project. Workshops involve organisations including PICMG, SGeT, the Linux Foundation and the Edge AI Foundation. A CRA Masterclass is also listed. The technical conference focuses on bringing up hardware, porting software and deploying applications. [Source 2]

Those are useful distinctions when choosing between sessions. A hardware bring up workshop serves a different purpose from a demonstration of an application running on a completed system. Before reserving time, check the session description for the board, software environment and level of participation expected.

The organiser’s workshop page advertises an All-Access Pass with a hardware kit and reserved seat. Workshop booking has its own ticket link, so check the entry conditions for the particular session rather than assuming that exhibition admission includes every workshop. [Source 2]

Use the forums for a specific design question

The C6 forums cover power, embedded systems, chiplets and cybersecurity. Across the wider show, the published programme also includes measurement technology, electrical connectors, printed electronics and PCB, EMS and components discussions. [Source 1][Source 3]

A focused question makes that programme easier to navigate. For a modular embedded design, it might concern interoperability between a carrier board and a compute module. For connected equipment, it might be responsibility for software updates over the product’s supported life. These are editorial examples of questions to bring, rather than claims about what any individual session will answer.

The Sensor Pavilion is a separate addition to the show. The organiser’s announcement does not specify its hall, so use the current hall plan and exhibitor directory before arranging meetings there. [Source 1]

The electronica app provides the digital hall plan and live programme. Keep the saved sessions alongside stand appointments, particularly when moving between the C5 demonstrations, C6 forums and suppliers elsewhere in the exhibition. [Source 1]
