Bulgin combines 16A power and signal contacts in sealed Buccaneer connectors

Bulgin has expanded its 6000 Series Buccaneer range with hybrid circular connectors that carry power and signals through the same sealed housing.

Each connector has two central power contacts rated at 16A, alongside signal contacts rated at 3A. The range offers configurations with two, four or six signal contacts, targeting equipment such as instrumentation, sensors and industrial control systems. Combining the connections removes the need for separate power and signal connectors. [Source 1]

The Hybrid Buccaneer uses the existing 6000 Series locking arrangement, which Bulgin describes as a 30 degree push/pull mechanism, and includes panel mounting options.

Bulgin rates the connectors IP68 and reports immersion testing at a depth of 10 metres for two weeks. The company also says the devices have undergone salt mist, dust resistance and thermal resistance testing. [Source 1]
